That’s why I focus on the comments on those videos. The one or two YouTubers who I have watched studied full time or part time and ended up being at about an intermediate level in 1–6 months. They were fairly transparent about learning a couple of phrases or words previously.

One guy worked on French 8 hours a day during lockdown to reach an intermediate level in 30 days! French commenters, or people who spoke the language often in their countries (e.g Belgium), complemented him on his accent and pronunciation.
